Key West sign , CeremoniesByKat.comKey West is most often referred to as the Southernmost city in the continental U.S.  Located only 90 miles from Cuba and 100 miles from Key Largo, their is something for everyone on this 5 mile island. Key West has been home to such notables as Ernest Hemingway from 1931 to 1961.  Today his property is open to the public, as is the maritime museum of Mel Fisher and many other writers, actors and explorers.  The Harry S. Truman Little White House is open to the public for tours.  Key West brims with color, variety and excitement.  The island is a mixture of the galleries, museums, theaters, restaurants, shops, bars and entertainers.  It is an eclectic mix of old and modern architecture.  Duval street is well known, and so are the daily sunset celebrations. Anna Maria Island is approximately seven miles long north to south. Also found in Anna Maria Island, at the southern mouth of Tampa Bay, are the cities of Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria and Holmes Beach. If you are looking for a great location for a wedding, the endless beachfront which extends for mile after mile (as far as the eye can see) , you will LOVE Anna Maria! The city includes what locals call “Venice Island”, a portion of the mainland that is accessed via bridges over the artificially-created, intercoastal waterway. The city is located 20 minutes south of Sarasota and north of Englewood. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 20,748. It is noted for its large snowbird population during the winter months and was voted as a top 10 “Happiest Seaside Towns” by Coastal Living. The greater Venice area is home to many beaches including Venice Beach, Casperson Beach, and Nokomis Beach. Casperson Beach is one of very few beaches where there is no development (no hotels, homes, roads or condos), just beach trees and the Gulf of Mexico running for miles and miles. Bradenton includes the areas of Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria Island, City Island, the fishing village of Cortez, and Longboat Key.
